I must be unique (lucky?) in picking engines. Have this '03 6.0L GMC that burned no oil at all for about 150k miles, then started using a few drops between oil changes.
I change the oil every 5000 miles, and use regular oil ... at 200,000 miles, it was down less than half a quart last oil change.
Just saying, also, have a '99 GMC Safari 3.2 and it does the same thing, oil change every 5000 miles, less than a quart between changes. Owned both trucks since new, and always maintain my vehicles well. Both still run like trucks that don't need me at the dealer looking at another one quite yet.
