My 2002 has 38,000 miles on it.
Uses 1 to 1.5 quarts of oil every 3000 miles. Has since I bought it with 31825 miles on it.
Everything I've ever found on the issue says it is normal, except for that occasional nutcase that claims no automotive engine should ever use a drop of oil.
