GM and Navistars new trucks .

Lighter.than 4200 chassis. Smaller cab, or at least different looking. Similar to how GM used to be between the 45/55 chassis and 65/75 chassis. Not as many engine granny options.

Not sure, I'll have to look next time I see one. Talking to the medics that run them, they have nothing good to say, but I think that is more to do with how they were specced rather than the International chassis.

Yes, the same Navistar/International.

International truck chassis are great, very heavy duty, easily serviced. The 4000-series International trucks are most popular medium duty local delivery and utility service trucks around, closely followed by the Freightliner M2.

I have a 2001 4800 model, which is a 33,000 GVWR class 7 truck. It also has a very good DT466E 7.6 inline-6 diesel engine that uses the same CAT/International HEUI injection system as the International/Ford 7.3 Powerstroke (T444E) V8 diesel of the same era ('94-'03).

In a word, No. They are trying to sell the Coronado here? Anyway they have tried selling their Trucks again, they withdrew earlier. Have been selling CAT branded heavy trucks, but similar slim sales,means they have now been withdrawn from the market.
Correction , Coronado is Freightliner, which is also struggling as well. They do sell the Argosy( new build) , but others are a bit crude.
Western Star on the other hand sells very well

GM lost out on a potential sale when I was looking at Class 5 trucks. I always like to see more competition since it brings better products at better prices to the buyers.

I did find little benefit to the Class 4 trucks. They are built heavier than the Class 3, but they almost match payload to the Class 3's because of this.

They have a'm line down to 15k or there abouts to compete with.the.450/550's. If I needed to replace my 4600 it would be on the short list. Although I would probably probably still end up.with an equal to what I have a lo-pro class 6.

I don't think Navistar/International makes trucks in the class 2-5 range. It seems their trucks start at class 6, 20,000 GVWR and up.
