GM has a history of bad decisions. They will make millions in profit from the incentives that were given for building the plants, then dumping it as soon as possible. No employees to pay, get the stupid locals to pay for most of the building and opening expenses, then drop it all and put the money into their pockets, and leave all the rest for someone else to pay for. Nothing new, just the way they do business.
I'm sorry that your diesel Chevette back in the early 80s was a turd. All other US manufacturers were also just finding out that the import invasion was on and producing higher quality vehicles was a necessity.
The Chevrolet Impala (not the fleet version) is the highest rated full size sedan by CR and at the same time GM is fast outpacing most others in EV and AI engineering and investment. Barra is the industry darling and yet with all of that you have heartburn. Enjoy your Prius before Toyota kills them. Yes, they are dropping the whole line.
