- S_DavisExplorerWell I just started having coolant issues with my 2019 with 40,000 miles , I need to change the coolant tank and see if the low coolant message goes away. All they mentioned was the L5P so about five years of production.
- chiefneonExplorerHowdy!
Hell I have a 2018 Chevrolet 3500 LTZ Duramax 6.6 and from day one the engine bock heater was recalled. Been replaced once. Shortly after that it was recalled again. Every time I ask the dealership they state there’s no replacement available. I had a long conversation with GM costumer service and they only stated the same thing “NO FIX AT THIS TIME”. My only response was “THATS NO WHAT I PAID FOR”. Still waiting! If they want to buy this thing back they can have it!

The tank is bad. I just had mine replaced on my 2018. It is not all L5p''s that are being replaced. It was a group of newer trucks. - ksssExplorer

Mine has also had both block heater recalls. I have plugged it in all Winter and every Winter since 2018. How often do you plug yours in being in Texas? If you don't like it, sell it, you will have no problem getting rid of it. - ACZLExplorerIs there a certain year or range of affected engines? Friend of mine has a '18 D-max. Didn't see anything in the clicky.
- chiefneonExplorerHowdy!
I can’t even plug it in. They cut and removed it so I could not use it. They stated it would cause a fire in the engine compartment. I would but finding a replacement is not easy theses days.

Chiefneon - ksssExplorerSo your saying that living in Texas, you actively plug your truck in? Or are you just pissed that they cant fix the recall (that gets my vote)? I wont argue that two recalls on the same cord is dumb. However, what do you care? No one living in Texas needs to plug their truck in anyway. Now if you lived in a Northern State you could be put out by the cord recall and could have a reason to complain about it. That said, I spend time in Montana, and North Dakota as well as East Idaho. I have had at least one Dmax since '01. Not once has it not started in subzero cold when not plugged in...Ever! I think your looking for something to complain about, but not enough to actually do something about it, but enough to complain. Your Dmax will never be worth more than it is right now, and Ford and Ram are still selling pickups. If you really want one, I am sure there is one that can have your name on it.

Anyone know why GM is buying back late model 6.6L Duramax's ?
Yes.
But for you to know, you will need to apply for a job at GM and show up for work. :B - chiefneonExplorer

I’m a fulltime RVer and travel the country. I have a lot of features on my truck that I seldom use. But I paid from them and expect them to work if and when I choose to use them.
