- chiefneonExplorerHowdy!
Hell I have a 2018 Chevrolet 3500 LTZ Duramax 6.6 and from day one the engine bock heater was recalled. Been replaced once. Shortly after that it was recalled again. Every time I ask the dealership they state there’s no replacement available. I had a long conversation with GM costumer service and they only stated the same thing “NO FIX AT THIS TIME”. My only response was “THATS NO WHAT I PAID FOR”. Still waiting! If they want to buy this thing back they can have it!

Chiefneon - S_DavisExplorerWell I just started having coolant issues with my 2019 with 40,000 miles , I need to change the coolant tank and see if the low coolant message goes away. All they mentioned was the L5P so about five years of production.

Maybe I should start a Chummins shop? - ksssExplorer

Thats what I found as well. - Second_ChanceExplorer IIThe only thing I can find was on a Duramax forum in comments on a thread. According to that, it seems to be a "heat treatment issue with the block that causes warping and hydrolock"
Rob - Grit_dogNavigatorSounds like just new trucks. So considering no significant changes to that engine since 2017, must be a quality issue and not an inherent defect. Hopefully limiting the quantity of buybacks.
Hood this doesn’t put a damper on the 500hp+ version promised. - FlatBrokeExplorer IIMine is 20 years old I’ll take a do over, please. :)
- I don't understand why GM doesn't simply replace the motor.
- LwiddisExplorer IINo fix and no new trucks on a GM lot to buy as a replacement.
- Sjm9911ExplorerWow, if they are buying them back that probably means no fix to the problem. Not good.
