It has occurred to me that since the cause of the damage was not reported properly that GM's statements may not have been reported properly either. The statements from GM that were reported may have simply been observations in addition to the actual cause which was omitted. I would like to see an actual copy of any documentation from GM before speculating further. I am not a GM guy but this case has a foul odor to it that can only be reduced by more forthright reports.
