GM LLY Starter Grind
I have read countless forum posts on GM Diesel Websites on this issue, but none have come up with a successful 100% fix
RV's know stuff so I thought I'd try it here! :)
Does anybody know officially how to fix the LLY GM 6.6l Diesel Starter grind issue. I have replaced the starter with aftermarket and Delco Starters. and have been told that the flex plate in the past was in good shape. I have read countless forum posts over the years that people have said the same things. but NOBODY has a post on a "this is the problem and I fixed it."
My thoughts is it has to be an electrical voltage issue. I changed the relay under the hood, no change.
If 3 or 4 different starters have the same result it can't be the starter.
Now I am thinking the ignition switch ( not the key part but the part under that)or battery cables.
When the truck was new it happened occasionally … as it has gotten much older it is more frequent.
