Toyota, Lexus and Mercedes all had recalls as well.
The fact is recall do not equal poor quality in any measurable metric. It may be your opinion but the metrics and market feedback don't support that connection.
My opinion that GM has better quality isn't germane. It is a widely held PERCEPTION based on surveys and some very clever data mining. Metrics bare this perception out as it is certainly true GM's cost of poor quality has improved.
Dont get stuck on absolutes - this is all about perception and marketing.
