I’d like to say this thread wins the annual “Is this really a concern, and if it is, you need something else to think about or find a better suited hobby” award. But in reality it probably only wins the weekly award!
Back on topic.... who cares? I’m only a youngin compared to most of the esteemed members of this forum, but seriously, after pulling trailers of all shapes and sizes around with easily 100 different trucks, I can honestly say I’ve never given a second thought as to where the brake controller was mounted, unless it hit my shins or knees getting in the truck. I can also count on one hand the number of times I’ve “had” to use the brake controller manually.
I say if this is a real concern, you’re doing it wrong!
