GM Trailer Brake Control: Left or Right of steering wheel

I've had it on both sides. My 04 was low left, quite hard to reach. When I installed the controller in the 05 it was higher, but still low on the right. Now the 18 has upper left. I like this best so far. Up high in easy reach and by it self. And not in the clutter of everything else on the right.
