Fifteen years ago, the culture of membership at RV.net had quite a different dynamic. Thoughtful, helpful, kind, and considerate members like JBarca and Ron Gratz established the tone for the responses tendered here, by exemplifying such excellent examples of well considered and very detailed (yes, that could mean complicated) thoughtful responses on the many nuances of towing trailers.
I miss those days.
Yeah... things have changed. A large number of newbies--and these days there are a lot of new folks buying RVs--are members of the Facebook generation. Instead of searching out old-school standalone forums like this one, they create and join Facebook pages devoted to camping/RVing. Often these pages are specific to a particular state or region. That leaves places like this with an ageing and ever-shrinking user base.
It doesn't help that a not-insignificant number of those users are old farts who know it all, with a get-off-my-lawn attitude.
