Scott Dammon, Lead Development Engineer, General Motors wrote:
"Changes... a BIG ONE is the Trailer Brake Controller is right here to the right. We heard from our customers a lot. They didn't love it over here on the left... you know... left hand on the steering wheel and they can easily control the gain on the trailer."

So what, still proves nothing. I still prefer it on the upper left where it is on the 2015 no matter what your opinion is, a GM engineers, or some whackjob at the TFL truck rag.
The all knowing GM Lead Development Engineer. I wonder who held that position on the Vega,SSR,Envoy,Aztek, etc LOL.
