I know some will advise you to look at a 3500, but from my experience you will be hard pressed to find any to choose from on lots. This is especially true if you are looking exclusively at GMC and not Chevy. You will have a much better selection of 2500 to choose from, especially if you are open to a Silverado. Only difference between Sierra and Silverado are trim packages and extra frills on Sierra. Beyond that it's just personal preference on looks.
