Either engine will do the job just fine and by just fine I mean it will get there and do so at a reasonable speed.
The new 5.3 seems to have similar numbers to the 6.0 that is in the 2500hd but you can't get the 3.73 or 4.10 rear ratios the 2500 has. I am thinking the 5.3 will end up towing in 4th gear at 2600 rpm @60mph on the flats. The 6.2 might pull in 5th. If the price wasn't too big of a difference and factor in if it needs premium fuel I think I might consider the 6.2.
