How do you give a 5 year award to a 6 month old truck?
It's call "projection". Based on today's specs multiplied by 5. Simple.

Simple yes. But accurate, prolly not. They have NO idea how well the thing will hold up. Unless of course they are basing it on the trucks with the same technology that has been used for years, and not on the trucks with any innovative changes.
Butthurt.
:? Not hurt for me. I make parts for GM. I want them to do well, But again. you can't tell how much it will cost to keep up a truck for 5 years, after only 6 months. - Community AlumniDid you guys happen to notice the award has nothing to do with quality? It's a gimmick award with the dubious title of 5-Year Cost to Own Award.
This is nothing new, Consumer Reports has been publishing vehicle cost-of-ownership for years. - In before the blue koolaid bunch!
I can't believe I just said that crap!
Now for some real comments...It's good to see GM rack up some awards. And better yet they need to rack up some sales! - wilber1ExplorerThere were some major engine changes. DI, cylinder deactivation and continuously variable valve timing. Nothing revolutionary but new to these engines.
