Please explain why the previous GM’s could not tow my 23k DRV.
No one has an answer?
The 2017 DRW 3500 2wd regular, double, and crew cab were rated to tow a little over 23k. In fact, the GM 3500 DRW crew cab 2x4 3.73 long bed is rated to tow a 23,100 lbs fifth wheel which is not too far off from what a Ram 3500 DRW crew cab 3.73 2x4 long bed of 23,860 lbs. The only Ram's that can tow over 29k are with a 4.10 rear end which GM did not offer in these year models. Same with Ford. The only trucks rated to tow over 29k was with a 4.10 rear axle.
So if this truck had the same transmission as the SRW trucks, how would the transmission be the limiting factor keeping the SRW trucks from towing 18k like you stated earlier? Let me be clear, I am not a GM fan boy and would never buy any of their HD trucks, but common sense is common sense.
