Terryallan,
3rd tier? That means 2nd tier, 1st tier, and in house is ahead of you. I wouldn't do so much bragging if I were you! Each tier step down gets easier to replace and that you can take to the bank instead of a paycheck! May take a little while. Ever hear of being "Optimized"? All suppliers for all auto manufacturers are or can be subjected to it's tentacles and starting at the lowest tiers.
When it leaves us. It goes straight into the vehicle. Thought 3d level was the last one before the GM assembly line, Because that is what we are. You know. 1St tier is under 2nd tier, and 3 tier is on top of that. In other words. Next stop is the line. Only thing GM, Ford, BMW, Chrysler, Maserati, and others do, is bolt it in. IF for some reason we don't get it there in time. They shut down, and wait for it. Can't tell what it is. But without it. The vehicles don't move.
As I say. GM already TRIED to replace us. Couldn't do it. And in truth. Losing GM at this point is not a compan y, or business killer . They came back to us, we didn't chase them. Our future does not depend on GM. When they were told to do it inhouse, other customers raced to take their place. When you are the best at what you do. People naturally come to you. We are that good.
Now we are trying to find a way to fit them back in, along with more projects they want us to do.
But there is truth in what you say. Any one can be replaced.
