Sure you can take Van Wyck to Whitestone to GWB if that is easier
Remember there is construction on the Cross Bronx that slows everything down at times

I've done this route many times over the last 30+ years of towing a RV. All I can say to the OP is drive slow, watch for those potholes and Good Luck!!!

Not true....you can take the LIE (495W) to 278W (the BQE) to the Verrazano bridge across Staten Island to the Outerbridge Crossing then 95 north 1 exit to I-78 then west to PA. Used to go that way all the time to PA.

Or you go 95 south to I-76 then west, what ever is easier to Stevens.

No matter which way you go, go slow and watch the potholes or your dishes will be all over the camper when you get there...

Well from Long Island the only way out of long island is the LIE to Throgs Neck via Clearview expressway (but not VIA cross Island Parkway) to the GWB. You cannot take the Northern or Southern State Parkway. You cannot take the tunnels either. Then it looks like 80 to 287s. To I78 to US 222.
