this is good stuff, what about the gray and black water tanks? do those stay open or closed? I assume I keep the black water closed at all times even when camping and only open that when it needs dumping, but what about the gray water when im not there, does that matter?
I think it is a good idea to leave both tanks closed. If you leave the grey tank open, smelly stuff can stick to the walls of the tank. If you dump when pretty full, the tank stays fresh. Also, when the black tank gets full, dump it first then the grey tank...the grey tank water will wash out your hose.
Ditto on this.
Regarding the fridge, I wouldn't leave food in there either, but in-season for us we leave long-term stuff like salad dressings, mayonnaise, butter, cranberry juice, etc. Some condiments and staples like that OK for the whole season as long as they stay cold and within the exp date. Also can keep hot dogs and frozen vegetables,e tc in the freezer. Like I said, leave the gas on and if you have a power outage for whatever reason the fridge will run on gas as a backup.
If you're running up there for a weekend, I can't see have to travel with a cooler of food, wait for the fridge to get cold only to have to shut it down again and start from square one every weekend. Why we leave ours on, keeps trip preparation minimal, we just buy the perishables and go.
