Wife & I have had a seasonal site at the same campground since 1993. We are weekend campers. The first season on Sunday afternoon we would empty the fridge and freezer, dump holding tanks, turn off electricity, water and gas then head home. Friday evening we'd be back and have to turn everything back on. Took awhile for fridge to cool back down. After 1st season we started leaving the electricity and gas on so we could keep fridge running. We take perishables (like milk, lettuce, leftover food) home Sunday afternoon. We have never had a problem. If electricity went off, gas ran the fridge. July 2013 we bought a "destination" trailer. It has a house type fridge. It runs on electricity ONLY. We didn't have any problems with food spoilage. This campground is basicly a seasonal campground. They do have a few weekend sites.
