In a CG with so many coming and going most with old undersized electric grids electrical protection is advisable, but just surge protection, well that isn’t the type of protection most needed IMO…

protection worth having cost money in this case about $300… they are worth it if you use them…
the problem with them I have see people that have them not use them on hot summer days because the voltage fluctuates so much with the overloaded grid that they are always doing their job and shutting down… they often chose to bypass them to stay cool because everyone else is and their air is still working…
