For our first travel trailer, we knew we had to buy used (second one too) and also knew that we did not want to be too heavy on the tongue for our tow vehicle. We bought the Sherline tongue scale and took it with us when we looked at trailers. If it looked like we might want it, we checked the tongue weight. It saved us from a bunch of too heavy trailers. Newer trailers have more information on the weight stickers so you may not need one (or you might have a bigger truck that will not be limited as much on payload)..
