Which viscosity does Ford want you to use. I had a hell of a time getting used to 5w-20 in the F250 gasser. AT 96k miles it's still running like a new one. I run 20w-50 in my old Harley. Times are changing.
From my owners manual:
For severe duty usage, use SAE 5W-40 API CJ-4
Since I tow and run in very low temperatures, this is the only weight that meets the Ford requirements.
I would use only the oils on this chart for any brand of diesel.
