My '04.5 Cummins has been on Shell Rotella T-6 for over 160K ago and is changed twice a year. Has not used, smelled or what ever even under heavy towing up to 400 miles a day. Maybe my engine is an oldy but goody.
Yep, Rotella T6 was good oil, but that changed about 10 months ago. Continued use would not be wise.
IMHO not a thing. I would continue to use it and be happy. Cummins has not issued any such warnings about this.
Unbelievable, do whatever you want and be sure that you never read anything about the reduction in anti-wear additives. :R
I'm not too worried. Honestly this is one of the reasons I left Ford after over 20 years of owning their trucks. Not having to worry about what specific oil to use, coolant additives, etc. is very nice.
