- BB_TXNomadCamped next to someone a couple weeks ago. They had various colored lights around and a spinning "disco ball" flashing light beams thru the tree branches. My only thought was WHY? :S
- toedtoesExplorer IIII'm not big on lights at night when camping. If sitting outside in the dark, I will have a lantern or flashlight handy to light my way when I move around. Solo camping I don't do campfires - those are for when others are camping with me.
If I'm inside the RV, I tend to stretch out on the couch with a cozy throw and my paperwhite kindle. I like being able to look out the windows and see the night and forest around me - lights get in the way of that. - whazooExplorer

This is going to be a good one! :)
You mean with all the posts coming from those that do not appreciate lights left on all night? ... yeah.
We don't do anything out of the ordinary... but we have learned that in certain areas of the country ( the SW being one) if you don't have lights on all night long underneath the rig... you've gonna have rodents chewing your wires. We like the LED rope lights.
Don't want to hijack the thread but thanks for reminding me. Ive read the threads about the rodent issue but haven't prepared for it yet. It will be our first year in Arizona. Do you have lights in the engine bay?
I've camped in Arizona and the whole southwest my entire life. I've had mice get into food while backpacking but not once not ever had any kind of rodent chew my wires. I'm not saying it doesn't happen but it's not something I've even thought about while camping. - GripnriprodExplorer

- Carlos___RanaeExplorerWe do a purple rope led and place flourescent plastic at the corners of the slide outs. Too many instances of the kids, grandkids and friends getting nick on their foreheads after a night walk. Yes we do have flashlights, but after a few encounters with snakes we tend to look down.

Camped - sleepyExplorerI can assure you that I have never used Porch lights outside my camper at night... and I'm offended by those that do.
Just as your eyes become adjusted to the dark, the night sky, moon light here comes some inconsiderate that trys to light up the world... look like a carnaval... or the ferris wheel at the beach.... especially when they turn up their music.... assuming that everyone likes their type of music.
Night lights are just another reason that I hate camp grounds...
... cute little fences and sign posts are almost as offensive...
I don't need to put up a flag pole to find my camper...
I'm not scared of the dark.... woooooo! wooooo! there ain't no bugger man.... and if there is it will know where to find you... just follow the lights and racket
Just my opinion.... of course.
