- Kayteg1Explorer IIWhen slides add some weight, they come with with the floor reinforcement, what gives better support for lifting.
This is upper floor (under kitchen sink) of classic frame.
Not much to support even when camper is only 3000 lb.
The camper on video is fiberglass shell, just like boats.
Boats are lifted from the bottom by 2 straps all the time.
So if the guy inspected the camper frame for strength - this is very handy lift and if that come from boat yard - probably did not cost him a fortune for custom build.
If he lifts the camper without checking with manufacturer for frame strength- he is an idiot.
Strange that in 7 years/ quarter million views the video did not get a single comment.
Took rv.net forum member to make it an issue :h
Click For Full-Size Image. - jimh406Explorer IIIPeople invent dumb things all of the time. That’s pretty amazing that he’s lifting the TC from the sides that normally support little weight. I’d like to see him lift a triple slide that way ... I’m sure he’s got insurance for damages. :D
But seriously, there is little reason not to have it under the bottom of the TC other than to prove he can. - QCManNomad IIIHe saw a travellift in a boat yard and made the idea work for tc's. Brilliant and nobody can back under a unit in his yard and steal it if it is back end out!

I do question the weight capacity of the tires and wheels .
You can question it but for one thing it's only moving around the lot not going down the highway so a blowout is barely an inconvenience. From the looks of it this guy has been moving campers like this for DECADES and has never had a problem. - ticki2ExplorerFor a dealer that has to move TC' s around often it looks like a handy tool , like in snow country where lots have to be plowed . I do question the weight capacity of the tires and wheels .
