Got a new truck

Just bought a new 2014 Silverado 2500hd with 6.0 vortec. I got a really good deal on it with the GM supplier discount. It's just a plain work truck with the HD trailering package. Steel wheel, vinyl floor and seats with power door locks. My son laughed when he saw you have to roll the window down. He's 14 and this is the first vehicle he's seen that doesn't have power windows. :) Its just a simple truck and I love it.

  • Nice!! Congrats. I too like the "bare bones" trucks. My favorite truck was my '79 GMC, it was even a standard trans. Loved that truck, I am always comparing it to my newer trucks. It was the one that I owned the longest also- 21 years. some guys stole it one night-but I got it back. enjoy that new ride. Cheers, John.
  • That is a nice looking truck. I also own a work truck and love it. The prices for new trucks are crazy. My wife and I paid 25 thousand for our first home....you can not touch a new truck for that today.
  • The only thing I hate is the vinyl seats. Hot in the summer and damn cold in winter.
  • I went out shopping for a work truck but got seduced. To top it off, I bought $220 worth of vinyl floor mats to cover up the carpet that I paid extra for. Uggg!

I did buy white. I was worried about it showing dirt, but it hides it better than any other color I've owned.

    Enjoy!

A set of decent seat covers will fix that and protect the seats too.
  • I ordered my current truck as the base model (XL in Ford) and just added the options I wanted. Came out much cheaper and I don't need a luxury truck. Love the vinyl floor but did splurge for the powered locks and windows.
  • Mine is white as well but not a work truck. Fortunately the dealer & I used to be neighbors and he pin striped it for free and it really dressed it up. He also put in real wheel liners so there wasn't so much white showing behind the wheels and I was shocked how much it helped the "plain jane" looks.
