Got my Hillbilly AC!!

Had my Dealer install it. They know what kind of roads and trails I use so they built it STOUT. Replaced the rear wall with 1" plywood, sub flooring I think. Welded up a bracket and bolted it clear thru.

Then I went across the street to the boat cover shop and they made a cover for it.

My Dealer did a very nice job, especially trimming the inside. But I'm not going to crank the top up just to get a picture. Too cold!!!

    Brought to mind, this one.

    Of course, you have to be moving for it to work & stop every 50 miles to refill with ice. :B

    Hey DJ, are you giving that thang a try right now? If ya are it's working real good, I'm watching snowflakes falling over Lake Powell. Turn it off for a spell will you, I need to see to get out of here. Darn hillbillies.

    I remember my Grandparents used something like that in their 1800's house. They hung a lightweight dish towel on the back of the fan fill with ice. Then a dishpan below to catch the water as the ice melted.

    It is 5000. Same Frigidaire Four Wheel Campers use. They hard wired it in so when either on shore or Honda 2000 all I have to do is turn it on!!

    Nothing wrong with a side wall A/C. Makes more sense to me than having some potential leak through your roof.

    I like it and I think it will work just fine.
    My 6000 btu unit runs fine off of my 1000 watt Yamaha. I haven't needed my 2000 watt Honda yet.

    Congrats, for the ac add, the cover looks nice as doors the install.
