Grand Design-Imagine Travel Trailer 2600 RB

Looking at the Grand Design-Imagine Travel Trailer 2600 RB, never owned a TT, still shopping and doing research. Anyone have any experience good or bad with Grand Design? I know that is kind of general, looking for any information that we can get. Thanks

  • Just picked up the 2800BH. If you are looking at the 2600RB, take a look at the 2600RK as well. It looks like a very nice setup.

So far, no real complaints with 2800 other than the lack of 12V outlets. I do dry camping and 12V outlets would really help out.
  • We recently took delivery of a Grand Design 2600 rb. The floor plan gives a roomy feel and the theater seating is very comfortable. Bathroom is quite large for a trailer of this length. Plenty of storage also. We looked for about a year before discovering the Grand Design. Tows great with my v6 Ram 1500, over 11 mpg. So far we are happy with our purchase.
  • My TT has a similar floorplan to the 2800BH and toured one at an RV show. I like a lot of things about it, but the only door right next to the sleeping kids is not a good idea.
  • All thank you for your feed back! Bobndot thank you for that link, i learned a lot on the small amount of post on that forum. Going to another show this weekend in PA and will reply on what I find. Thanks again.
  • We bought an Imagine 2950RL and LOVE the layout. It's our first TT and we saw it at an RV show. We walked through 40 different TT's and when we stepped into this one we were blown away. We like the modern color selection and styling cues. There's a fireplace that resonated with my girlfriend. This was the best value trailer that suited us.

Our first checkout trip (Jan 22, 2016): Upon closer inspection we did see some craftsmanship issues. The interior trim really shows the finishing nails and there wasn't much done to try to hide them. The rear window latch didn't latch properly -- it would actually slide right open while towing, not to mention somebody can easily slide it open from the outside. It's at the shop now getting a new window (under warranty). A stabilizer jack needed some lube; it was pretty sticky. Other than that everything checked out fine. Oh, we did have to get a memory foam mattress topper to help with the horrible mattress. After lurking on this forum for the past several months I get the impression these are fairly typical minor grievances of any new TT.
  • Yeah, DW & I saw one at a local show & really liked the layout. Pet dishes are wasted on us though - maybe I could convert it to shoe storage.
  • We recently fell in love with the 2800BH. From my nit picky point of view, they look very well built and even underneath things are done neat and tidy.
  • The Imagine line is at the very tip top of my short list right now. It's in its first year, but the newest models already have some nice upgrades like a fiberglass front. There were issue mentioned about very uneven heating, but it appears that may be fixed now too. I wish they had frameless windows. The 2100RB and the 2600RB would either one probably be nearly perfect for this empty nest couple.
  • I will be watching this thread closely as we saw this trailer at the Quartszite RV show last month and really like the unit. Might be our next purchase.
