The ball may not be wearing but the inside of the hitch is!
People say there isn't enough movement, think about all the pressure on that ball. Hundreds of pounds of just weight and then W/D presses it down even harder, every time you hit a bump, slight turn...I'd say about the only time there isn't rubbing is when you are sitting still.
That's just the way I see things...I don't care if eveeryone uses grease or not, I will.
