That's a recipe for disaster.
Maybe ten years is a bit much, it's hard to tell. Personally I've been towing trailers since the mid-60's and check the bearings every 5 years or so and I have yet to find one that could not have gone on for a couple more years or more.
I just did my brakes and bearings. I clean and repack them every 2 years. I found one that was just starting to come apart. If I waited another year I would've been on the side of the highway.
Boats should be done once a year. regular trailers can go 2 years.
