A padded hard case works for me too. Some other ideas:
1. Build a horizontal gun locker into the headboard of the TC
2. Build a vertical gun locker out of hanging wardrobe closet
3. Use your TC basement storage
4. Attach a safe box in the rear of the truck cab
If you worry about theft, strip out an important piece of the firearm that you can keep with you or stow elsewhere. It may not prevent theft, but it will prevent use against you or others.
