Interesting. I had an 01 2500 and GVWR was the same for all of them. Transmission and gear ratios only changed tow rating and GCWR.
Yep, I have a 2001 2500 with a GVWR, 0f 8,800# even though it came with the Camper Package 3500 springs and 265/75-16 E in place of the stock 245/75-16 E Tire weight ratings of 3,415# compared to stock 3,042# Rear axle rating of 6,084% :h, use every pond of the tire rating on the axle!
So that package didn't increase the the GVWR a single pound.
Well I tow a 12,360 GVWR 5er @ 11,000#+ and while well over GVWR, still about 500# UNDER GRAWR. No need for added bags or Timbirn's.
Just wondering what you Rear axle Weight rating is?
