To me it would depend on what you mean by... the dealers idea about the "tranny part". If the dealer is going to replace the tranny (100%) OK I can live with that. OR is the dealer only going to replace the part that actually broke inside the transmission, (the filings that you see draining out). IF in the later case I would a lot more investigation, because something got overheated or ran without lube and broke. Who's to say the shaft or bearing next to whatever broke didn't also get a lot of wear and just hasn't broke yet? Also to me would be the word "dealer" is a used car lot or actual dealer for that make. If used car dealer I would want it fixed and inspected by the actual dealer for that make of car. Maybe just me.
