OR is the dealer only going to replace the part that actually broke inside the transmission, (the filings that you see draining out). IF in the later case I would a lot more investigation, because something got overheated or ran without lube and broke. Who's to say the shaft or bearing next to whatever broke didn't also get a lot of wear and just hasn't broke yet? Also to me would be the word "dealer" is a used car lot or actual dealer for that make. If used car dealer I would want it fixed and inspected by the actual dealer for that make of car. Maybe just me.

Inspect complete, and if me, new transmission complete. No oil / fluid, not telling what kind of damage may show up later, to say nothing about long-term wear-out. I'd be pushing this dealer pretty hard if he thinks "Tranny part" ...
