I had new tires installed on my TT last week. 225/75 R15 Good Year Endurance. The 19 yr old who took the tires off and installed the new tires broke the grey water line with the long handle on the jack. The Manager said he put in a ins claim but he said Americas Tire did not do it. I also filed a claim with my Ins Co but I have $500 deductible. My Ins Lady said there was no claim filed by Amer Tires. She called the Manager of A T and he said he was not filing a claim as it would go on his record even tho the young kid said he did it. I am leaving the State for two months so I have to get something done by next week. All the Head Quarters for Amer Tires are closed due to the Corona V I was there the entire time the kid was installing the tires. The kid said "Oh **** I broke something" I said "you sure did" you better tell your bossWhat would you do? All the RV Repair places are 3 weeks behind on work to be done.I will take it to small claims court when I get back

You won’t get anything done in a week even if America’s Tire Management was in their office. Get it fixed, go on your trip and consider a small claims action. You took pictures at the tire store? Recorded at statement from the kid? Have a repair estimate?

Do you have relatively easy access to the broken line? Can it be repaired with Pex snd Sharkbites?I'm not sure if Sharkbites fit the grey lines, hopefully someone else has the answer.I would get it patched up and back on the road. Deal with the legal issues later.If the RV shops are too busy maybe you can find a local plumber?

If I'm reading correctly it's just the gray tank drain. If so there is probably no need for insurance. The line is just standard black ABS that you can buy at Home Depot. Call a mobile repair guy to come out and repair the line. If it's readily exposed you could also call a plumber as well. I'll bet the repair is under $200 when it's all said and done. Hopefully the manager will pay up if you can present an invoice and avoid the hassle of small claims court.

Yup. just need a "Fernco" coupler from any hardware store. Should be a 10 min fix tops.

Gray water line, Ferncos, Sharkbite, PEX, where is the description of the break? Insurance, deductible, good grief, fix it and go camping.

Thanks every one for your replys. I found a local Lic Plumber who said over the phone "I don't work on RVs" I asked if he would at least look at it. He looked at it and fixed it for $270.oo I think he jacked the price up when I said I was going to take it to Court
I called all the RV Repair places within 100 miles and none hardly had time to talk to me. One place said he would fix for $300 but I had to bring the TT to him. But it would be 6 weeks before he could do the job.

But depends why it’s a big problem. Is it busted back up into the trailer or busted off the tank? Or are you just not familiar with repairing pvc/CPvc pipe?

It kinda stinks that it happened.
It stinks more that the AT manager is a doosh.
But like others said, it appears you’re talking about the gray tank drain hanging under the camper.
Should be an easy fix. If it’s after the valve, it’s not even totally necessary to fix if you have some grasssy area to drain the gray water if you can’t hook the hose to it.
If it’s gray/black combo , disregard that last statement.
Otherwise hacksaw off what’s broke, take it to the hardware store and get new parts for probably less than $10.

I bet tire shops are having a hard time getting decent motivated employees these days. Was with my friend to pick up her truck. They damaged the wheels on the machine. I was polite but remember saying "we need some type of monetary compensation". Will have to ask but i think they gave her like $800 right there. Was a larger amount than i expected. Not sure if anything was filed.

Get it repaired then bring the receipt to the manager and get paid either in cash or a credit for future tires. Hopefully you have the kid's name and statement. Either way, I think the manager should give you credit for future purchase. If he doesn't then go to the general manager and higher. I wouldn't let it rest.

Fix it yourself and enjoy your trip. When you get back park your camper near their store with a huge banner with their name stating that they damaged your trailer and refused to pay for the repairs, or words to that affect.
