I pulled our 19' 3500# trailer with a staple gun (99 Dodge Dakota) when I first bought it. Perfectly legal, but the v6 was a bit underpowered, and she swayed a bit even with WDH/Sway on the highway.
Traded up for a brad hammer (RAM 1500, 5.7 Hemi)....tows much nicer now. Even have enough payload (1700) left over to put the 50cc scooter in the bed.
I have no need for a regular hammer or sledge.
Right truck for the job, no more no less...I refuse to buy a dually to tow my garden wagon when my toro 8-32 is the correct tool for the job.
