I would follow exhaust's advice and just fix up your oldie. Speaking of oldie, if you really are one I have a hunch you won't like the bare-bones EXC. It's for people under 30 yrs. old , fit as a fiddle, with unbelievable bladder control who just got out of boot camp with the Marines. I met this person at XPCamper a few weeks ago. He is a born world adventurer, operating on a shoestring and has developed along with XPCamper a minimalist box that looks vaguely like the EXC, only much more sleek. He has a place for a kayaks, skis, fishing gear, mountain climbing stuff, mountain bikes, etc.
