I can understand the OP's position, it's a numbers game, and unless you get to the right people before hand, things don't always seem as dire on paper as in the real world.
I just got burned by this, chasing numbers on stickers, etc. bottom line, even within specs, my '10 F150 hates my 32'TT. Could I make It work? Sure. Should I? No, I'm upgrading my TV to a 1 ton diesel (because I want another diesel, not because I think it's necessary over a gasser right now)
Dealers make the numbers look good and pour honey in your ear about great RV adventures, just remember the less seasoned of us are more susceptible to it up front, and try to use your experience to help him out, not berate him. If the situation is dire, tell that person so, but kicking a man after he just spent tens of thousands of dollars doesn't help him, and I don't see a lot of benefit to the community either.
