Mines not a dually. I'm worried mostly about handling , especially for the occasional off road. Those who've had both notice a big difference? Also, any manufucterers make a hard shell that's robust enough with low centre of gravity to take off road?
A lot depends on how far off road, or how rough of off road. If it is severe off roading, no hard side camper is probably going to do what you want it to do. The old Avion was built about as tough and light as you are going to find (except for it' wood bottom) and it still weighs about 2550# wet. My theory is to go back as far as I reasonably can with the camper and take the quads the rest of the way so I don't destroy the truck and camper. That is how I do it.
