Actually none of the wheels on the Nodwell are drive wheels, they're just the suspension and to carry the weight. The drive is provided by the sprockets in the very rear.
I'll agree the oil bath isn't necessary on a TT, but I like the idea like I like my red truck. If I put disc brakes o next summer causing me to work on the axles, I'll probably make this change also.
