I get that it is using newton second law of motion stating that force equals mass times acceleration. Using that and knowing how much force is required to accelerate, you can figure out the weight within a margin of error.
It also seems derive some numbers from your suspension calibration by your VIN and the vehicles own YAW sensors(measures vehicle tilt) which are suppose to be on all 2012 and up vehicles for rollover prevention programs. For vehicles without YAW sensors, it seems to have its own internal YAW sensor.
