Plenty of guys pulling large cargo trailers using extensions while hauling truck campers, even with a WDH. Those aren't just extended shank but extenders you plug your normal hitch into. The big issue is whether your truck's receiver is up to the task. I wouldn't do it with a factory hitch unless I knew it was capable.
