Hauling a trailer with extended hitch?

Anyone ever haul a smaller travel trailer with the extended hitch ball rated for 6000lbs and 600lbs tongue weight?

Curious if anyone has actually done it or seen someone do it and any issues they did or did not have.Seems strong enough for a smaller trailer but I have never seen or heard of it.

I don't know anything about them and there purpose!

  • I put an 18" shank on my equal-i-zer hitch so I could open my tailgate while still hitched up. Is that what you're asking about? It's about 6" or so longer than the standard hitch. It tows fine so far. I have a long trip coming up next week and might have more to share after that.
