I have a 9 1/2 double slide. The slides make the floor giant in comparison to non-slides. Any choice is a compromise as you know. The combination will be less stable the longer you get. I have a 2 ft hitch extension as is. I don't really want hitch extension to be longer. I like having a built in generator for stopping at the side of the road to run the microwave and coffee pot. To get the generator I needed at least a 9 1/2 to have a long bed. Shorter isnt really an option.
