I actually wore out my 81 VW Diesel. I did not know the electric fan was not working and had problems with the engine temp unit. So all this time I was running it as an air cooled engine. One day I let off at 50 and the engine took off because the rings finally could not expand anymore (burned the oil pulling up thru the rings). I had 30 thousands taper on the cylinder walls. The engine had 150K at the time but the rest of the engine looked like it had no more then 30K on it. I know many think it would not matter but I think the engine went as long as it did because I was running AMZ/OIL 30 wt.
