Well it certainly does manage torque whether it is intended to or not.
Like with many fly by wire aircraft, when flying manually, you are giving commands to controls through the autopilot with the control column, rudder pedals and throttles. As long as those commands are within certain parameters, it will obey them. If you try to give it commands that will over stress the aircraft, result in a loss of control such as a stall or overspeed, or in some instances fly it into the ground or anything else the manufacturer doesn't want you to do, it says nope, not doing that.
