It just depends. I can feel the puter telling my 06 LBZ what to do. I hate the feeling of throttle by wire because I'm old school and most of the vehicles I have driven are throttle by cable. With throttle by cable, what you do is what you get.
I really think I want to tune my truck because of the throttle lag it has. I know what it's capable of and it's not even close right now.
You don't need to tune the truck to remove throttle lag. Just buy this
BD Diesel Throttle Sensitivity Booster. For anyone out of warranty it is not an issue. If you are in warranty you might want to wait until the trucks warranty ends because these are a guaranteed way to void the powertrain coverage.
Or you could always have that fishy guy get you one of those super duper never needs a thing trucks like he has. oops I almost forgot :W:W were good now :B:B

I was told by three high up Chrysler guys that it would not hurt a thing using the BD throttle booster. they said to be safe just remove it if going in for service since it does not leave any type of trail.
Ron,
Makes you wonder if the "high up cummins guys" agree with the "high up Chrysler guys" recommendation? I seriously doubt it.
Don,
Yep my truck runs very strong and makes very good fuel economy without a after market tuner. But perhaps you'll run into those "high up Chrysler guys" and just remove your tuner to be on the safe side when taking your truck in for a repair. :B
