Heading to Ft Myers next week... No plans, no reservations

Taking 10 days and heading to Ft Myers FL with the TC. We have no reservations at any campground or any plans as what we will be doing except, of course, basking in the sun. I am familiar with most of the campgrounds down there... But was wondering if anyone down there knows if last minute sites would be available? Also what the weather is like first week of March? And finally, what current fun events the first week of March?

This 10 below weather here in PA is torture.

    Are there any restriction for parking oversized vehicles on Ft Myers beach? Don't really want to take the camper off for our day trips.

    Ford and Edison museums. Shelling on Sanibel Island, shell museum and 2 short movies.

    BMW442. The cheap tickets to the Red Sox spring training games are in the $27-29 range. The spring training games in Tucson a few years ago were in the $9-19 range. Guess prices went up since 2010.

    If you're a baseball fan, the Red Sox spring training is in Ft Myers. Never been down there but have heard it's fun & the games are cheap!

    Have a great trip! Nice area there. I will be heading to Daytona Beach soon. I really do not stay in CGs either. Cracker barrel, Flying J, Pilot on ride over and back. Then stay in my Dad's Driveway in Daytona.

    I sure wish we could pack up and head to Florida. We have had one after another "storm".....ice storm, sleet storm, snow storm. Even the birds are shellshocked. The winds have been so bad that I have lost three seperate covers. Now I lay plastic sheets over the camper and wrap it with a garden hose. Sad Sad Sad......:R

    we don't plan our trips like that either,just a general destination,its the only way to fly.we've had some amazing trips wandering and exploring.

    have a great trip we plan all our trips your way ,just go stop when we want. CG or cracker barrel .
